Hello! I’m Emma Nylk and I am a passionate about all things data.
I have been fortunate enough to work with retail, financial and educational organisations. During this time I have used data to create positive outcomes for people and businesses. However, I have also seen people struggling and being overwhelmed by data.
Data for me is about people. People who collect it, use it and those who are impacted by the data-led actions.
My aim is help everyone be more confident when handling data, and for them to benefit from the power of data.
Story behind the company
In spring 2017 while on maternity leave, Emma was visiting a school in the Scottish Borders when she saw how much time and effort the management team was putting into manipulating and analysing data they had on children’s attainment. Given her experience in MI dashboard design she built an Excel document for them to use.
Within a few weeks, other schools in the cluster were looking for similar support. As a cluster they commissioned the first product for East Neuk Analytics, The Attainment Tracker.
The Attainment Tracker is now being used within 3 school cluster areas across the Scottish Borders region.
Following this, East Neuk Analytics now offers a range of products and training support.
